And the famous watchmaker Donald de Carle, in his book Complicated Watches and their Repair, stated that IWC's special automatic winding mechanism was "a simple and ingenious system, well constructed and beautifully finished."
IWC built the movement of this watch in 1970 at the same time they were building their famous Ingenieur line.
Its cool and chunky retro case is full size. It measures 35mm in diameter without the crown, in between the size of Rolex Date and Datejust models.
Its parts are IWC down to its dial, hands, and its original signed winding crown - it has 100% original parts. It has just finished a true expertly done restoration and presents as mint.
Its case presents as mint with slight signs of polishing to the back. Its royal blue dial has been meticulously restored - the printing could pass as IWC factory done to the naked eye. It came out looking off color in the photos - in person it is a rich true royal blue.
As part of the restoration, the movement has been freshly overhauled by a Master Watchmaker.
For the finishing touch it has been equipped it with a brand new calfskin leather strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.
